When it comes to celebrities being banned from talk shows and live shows, the drama never ends. As strange as it may appear, a handful of celebrities have been barred from participating in talk programs. You'd think it's a major thing, given that talk programs, both daytime and midnight, are a big part of how celebrities market their new projects. Some celebrities don't get along with specific talk show presenters, while others can't seem to keep their objectionable conduct under control enough to be accepted on the circuit.

1. Madonna – Banned On Piers Morgan Live
Piers Morgan reportedly promised never to interview Madonna on his CNN show, Piers Morgan Live, according to Billboard. “She’s too vegan for television,” Morgan told the British press. “Now that we have Lady Gaga, Madonna is off my program,” Morgan explained. He went on to remark that he would rather interview celebrities like “President Barack Obama, Mel Gibson, or Lindsay Lohan” who were important at the time.
“Madonna doesn’t know who Piers Morgan is, but she’s a big fan of Lady Gaga,” Madonna’s publicist told AOL’s Popeater, so the pop diva didn’t seem to mind being banned from his show. The host didn’t divulge the basis for their feud until until later. Some people keep grudges for a longer period of time than others.
2. Hugh Grant – Banned On The Daily Show With John Stewart
Hugh Grant was suspended from The Daily Show by host Jon Stewart after he allegedly engaged in diva-like behavior on set. During a Q&A with Stephen Colbert at the Wellmont Theater in New Jersey, Stewart detailed the 2009 event.
When Grant appeared on the show, he was promoting the film Did You Hear About the Morgans? Backstage, he made life difficult for the crew, according to Stewart. “He’s always giving everyone sht and he’s a pain in the a*,” Stewart remarked. Grant was never asked to another gathering after that.
3. The Kardashians – Banned On Anderson Live
Anderson Cooper makes a profession interviewing celebrities, but he made headlines in January 2012 when he played a game of “Plead the Fifth” on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. Cooper was asked if he could ban one guest from his program for the rest of his life, who would it be? He didn’t just prohibit one member of the Kardashian family; he banned the entire clan.
His sentiments for the Kardashians didn’t appear to be reciprocated. In an ironic twist, Khloe Kardashian had tweeted moments before Cooper’s Kardashian ban, “I love Anderson Cooper! #SilverFox.” Hopefully, no resentment was expressed.
4. Chevy Chase – Banned On Saturday Night Live
Chevy Chase rose to prominence on Saturday Night Live in the 1970s, but his irresponsible behavior cost him his job, and he was never allowed to host the show again. According to the SNL Wiki Site, while he was hosting the show in 1997, an incident occurred on set.
He allegedly slapped fellow cast member Cheri Oteri on the back of the head backstage, according to reports. Will Ferrell informed producer Lorne Michaels about the event, and Chase was immediately banned. He made an appearance on the show’s 40th Anniversary Special, but he will never be asked to host it again.

Kelsey Grammer exited the Piers Morgan set. “Kelsey Grammer was scheduled to be on my show right now but rushed out of the building,” the presenter wrote on Twitter. Strange.” Grammer was kicked off Morgan’s show.
Grammer departed after seeing a portrait of his ex-wife Camille in the introduction, according to a source from the Huffington Post. “Publicists requested that it be removed, and producers assured them that it would be done before the show aired live. We were all seated in the green room at 9:00 p.m., and no adjustments had been made. Kelsey and his team left at that point, according to the source.
6. Kathy Griffin – Banned On Numerous Shows
Kathy Griffin is well-known for her outspoken remarks, and she frequently finds herself in hot water. She has been barred from appearing on numerous talk shows as a result of this. Griffin is no longer allowed to appear on Regis and Kelly, Conan, The View, Ellen, The Today Show, or David Letterman.
“Here’s the truth on banning: it’s not like somebody declares explicitly that you’ve been banned,” Griffin wrote in her book, Official Book Club Selection. You find out when you are no longer booked on the show. “The explanation can be obscure at times,” she added.

7. Bobcat Goldthwait – Banned On The Tonight Show With Jay Leno
When Bobcat Goldthwait was a guest on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show, he went too far. The comic doused lighter fluid on his chair and set it on fire. Leno was not pleased with the ploy and promised that Goldthwait would never appear on his show again.
Not only was Goldthwait banned, but he was also fined over $3000 for his damaging actions, and he was had to record public fire safety announcements. The ban lasted about a week before they let Goldthwait back to the show, so Leno must not have been very furious.
8. Vivica A. Fox – Banned On Jimmy Kimmel Live
Jimmy Kimmel’s feud with Vivica A. Fox is so intense that she has been barred from appearing on his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! When Andy Cohen asked which celebrity he wouldn’t invite back to his show, the presenter was a guest on Watch What Happens Live.
“The special guest was Vivica A. Fox. She might have been invited to Star Jones’ wedding, and I could have asked her if I could be the date, and Star Jones could have yelled at her, and she could have been extremely furious when she (Fox) returned to our program,” Kimmel confessed.
9. Howie Mandel – Banned On Piers Morgan Live
Piers Morgan and Howie Mandel may have worked together on America’s Got Talent as judges, but they aren’t friends in real life. Mandell’s on-set antics frequently made Morgan the brunt of his jokes, but Morgan retaliated by banning Mandell from his CNN show Piers Morgan Live.
Morgan thought Mandell “very obnoxious,” according to Entertainment Weekly. Morgan told the magazine, “It’s behavior-related, so he has a chance to redeem himself on Season 6 of AGT, but I don’t hold out much hope.” Mandell obviously failed to do so, as he was never invited to appear on the show as a guest.
10. Jay Leno – Banned By Conan
The late-night spat between Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien became so acrimonious that Conan forbade Leno from ever appearing on his show again. When Leno’s contract with The Tonight Show expired in 2009, the drama began.
To keep O’Brien on the network, NBC offered him the job, along with a new show for Leno. Being fired did not sit well with Leno, and NBC returned the show to him a year later after paying O’Brien a large sum of money. With his show Conan, TBS took on O’Brien, and he promised never to have Leno as a guest again.
